What we do
For the past 9 years, the Blackstone Valley Emergency Shelter, with the help of volunteers and the community at large, has successfully provided emergency shelter to those in need, particularly during the coldest nights of the winter. We work with individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness or an emergency situation and are located in the Blackstone Valley area.
Our Mission
Blackstone Valley Emergency Shelter mobilizes our community to ensure no one faces homelessness alone. We provide emergency shelter, police-referred crisis response, and structured housing stabilization programs that help individuals and families move from crisis to HOPE.
Our Vision
The Blackstone Valley Emergency Shelter will be a safe place that links people in distressful situations to providers of services they may need or want. These services could include a warming shelter, job training, addiction support, facilities for personal hygiene, mentoring, counseling, and consistent accountability. Our objective is not only to provide temporary assistance but to walk with individual and families
in their adverse circumstances.
Our Fundraisers
We have three fundraisers throughout the year: our spring Blackstone Valley Tasting Event, our holiday Festival of Trees and our newest event - The Sleep Out
