The Blackstone Valley Emergency Shelter has partnered with local Police Departments to give alternative support to those experiencing homelessness.

We supply local police with:

Hope Bags - including space blankets, snacks, and other necessities based on the weather.

Gift Cards – we provide gift cards to local establishments so the homeless can be considered a customer. This gives them the opportunity to sit down, get something to eat, and charge their phones.

Emergency Shelter options – the BVES relies on the officers to use discretion in offering a homeless person lodging at a local facility.  We hope that the person sincerely is homeless and not abusing the offer to give them a night off the streets.

On-line Resource Listing - We have collected names and contact info for resource organizations that will help those in an emergency situation. You can download our resource listing here.
